Almost 49 kilometers long undisturbed cycling and walking or running path on a paved former railway line. Largely along the river Dão what not only gives beautiful views but also plenty of opportunity to swim on the go. Prohibited for motorized traffic is the former railway line between the towns of Santa Comba Dão and Viseu, the ‘Linha do Dão’ that almost a hundred years functioned (25 november 1890 – 25 september 1988), is now one of the longest ecopistas. The road is a great place to several old stations which after conversion will serve as the restaurants and cafes. The ecopista is a perfect place to train for cycling, running, rollerblades or to just walking or cycling and near a river beach to swim. The Lugar Do Pégo is ideally located for these activities, as close to the Ecopista as can be!
